In one sentence

Wave Rider is a market analyzer scanner that retrieves publicly available market data from third-party APIs and ranks it according to your own scoring preferences. We do not create, author, or verify the underlying data, and we do not provide financial, investment, or legal advice of any kind.

What this service covers

Wave Rider covers three markets, each with the same user-preference driven scanning model:

  • Crypto — DEX newborns, Coinbase listing signals, and listed-token momentum.
  • Stocks — a curated ~100 US large-cap universe, with per-stock fundamentals, watchlist quotes, and inflation-adjusted watchlist analytics.
  • OTC — a curated ~20 ADR and OTC-common universe, using the same scoring and watchlist model as Stocks.

Analytics

FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data)

U.S. CPI-U (Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers) used to compute inflation-adjusted real returns for watchlist stocks. Public-domain data published by the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, sourced originally from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Use of each provider's data is subject to their respective terms of service. Wave Rider aggregates, caches, and reformats this data for display purposes only. Where a library such as yahoo-finance2 is used, we also acknowledge the maintainers of that open-source project.

How scoring works (the "preferences" model)

When you view any mode, a preference is active — a set of filters and factor weights that determine which stocks are shown and how they're ranked. Preferences are stored in your browser's local storage; they never reach our servers. Two users with different preferences will see different rankings for the same stocks.

Scoring math is fully transparent: every score has a factor breakdown visible on hover. All scoring is performed client-side in your browser against the daily snapshot. There is no proprietary formula — the factors, weights, and thresholds are visible in the preference editor and in our source code.

Free tier vs. upcoming Pro tier

The current free tier uses:

  • A curated universe of approximately 1,400 US stocks plus a small set of OTC/ADR tickers. Full market coverage is part of the planned Pro tier (subject to data-provider costs).
  • Delayed data — daily end-of-day snapshots for stocks/OTC; quotes for crypto and watchlist stocks may have up to 15-minute delay from the upstream provider.

In active development:

  • News and fundamentals scoring as a signed modifier (−50 to +50) layered on top of price-based scores, with admin-tuned built-in weights and per-user weight controls.
  • Sortable columns across every grid; lightweight charting; mobile-responsive polish.

The planned Pro tier (not yet live; waiting until we have revenue or significant user demand to justify paid data contracts) will add:

  • Full US stock universe (thousands of symbols).
  • Higher data quality and freshness via a paid data provider.
  • Real-time (or lower-latency) quotes during market hours.
  • Multi-year historical analytics with full dividend reinvestment modeling.

What this service is NOT

  • It is NOT a broker, exchange, or trading platform.
  • It does NOT execute trades, orders, or transfers.
  • It does NOT custody any funds, tokens, or securities.
  • It does NOT interact with your wallet or brokerage account.
  • It does NOT provide investment, financial, legal, or tax advice.
  • It does NOT predict future prices or make recommendations.
  • It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DEXScreener, Coinbase, CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance, Finnhub, FRED, the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, or any third-party data provider we reference.

What this service IS

  • An aggregator and viewer of publicly available data.
  • A preference-driven scanner that ranks results using math you define.
  • A tool for personal research and situational awareness.
  • Informational content only — you make your own decisions.

Caching, freshness, and accuracy

To respect upstream API rate limits, we cache responses. Stock/OTC data refreshes once per business day (end-of-day snapshot). Crypto and live watchlist quotes refresh every 20–60 seconds depending on endpoint. Data you see may be slightly delayed, and upstream data may itself contain errors. For any trade-critical decision, verify directly on the source platform or your broker.
